About FMCSA/NTC
The Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is the lead federal government agency responsible for regulating and providing safety oversight of commercial motor vehicles. FMCSA’s mission—reducing the number and severity of crashes, injuries and fatalities involving large trucks and buses—is supported by the high-quality motor carrier safety training provided by its National Training Center (NTC).
OUR EXPERTISE
Learning Design & Implementation
Challenge
As the key resource for all safety interdiction training, the NTC must maintain accurate, up-to-date curriculum for all its courses as federal policies and regulations change and evolve. During one safety training session, outdated information in the materials was discovered, highlighting a potential risk to FMCSA’s mission.
Solution
Longevity’s team of analysts and technicians targeted underlying inefficiencies in the NTC’s development and maintenance processes with a streamlined, high-level transition plan that identified quick wins to implement immediately. This approach established a sustainable process for maintaining current and accurate curriculum while delivering significant time and cost savings.
Business Impact
Leveraging its extensive federal expertise, Longevity assembled a specialized digital transformation team to establish long-term improvements. The team mapped current-state processes, monitored daily operational outputs, evaluated workforce performance and identified optimization opportunities. These efforts strengthened the NTC’s training infrastructure, improved operational efficiency and enhanced its ability to offer quality instructional programs.
